Gentle Embrace

Yutang Lin

Could gentle embrace be easily accomplished
Guiding to transform is even more arduous
Mind not as open as the empty sky
How could others be allowed to act at will
Compassion thoroughly profound
Grudge even as little as mustard is absent
Lead according to capacity and propensity
Knowing subjects renders treatments wondrous
In harmonious oneness of wisdom and compassion
All sentient beings are attracted in peaceful tenderness

Comments:

If one can comprehend the significance of Compassionate Embracing in the light of the above exposition, then, when one faces Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who applies gentle embrace to attract and guide sentient beings, such as Kurukulla, how could one refrain from making full prostrations and not feel wholehearted admiration? Such comprehension indeed saw through the appearance of gentle embrace to recognize its essence as the virtuous merits of Buddha's harmonious oneness of wisdom and compassion.
