懷柔豈易事,化導更難能。 跋 懷柔以攝引眾生登解脫道,若非大智大悲圓融,豈能做到?有執者即不能虛己以容人、以順人。心未空者,豈能不計較、不嫌怨?一計較、嫌怨,即不能懷柔對方矣,更遑論眾生。眾生有蠻橫、貪婪、愚昧,種種習性,若無空性與緣起融通之智慧,又何以應機施以誘引及化導? 若能如此了解懷法,則面對以懷柔攝引及化導眾生之佛、菩薩,如古魯古里佛母,豈能不五體投地、由衷感佩?如此更是看透懷柔之表相,而直接見到其中蘊含之大智大悲圓融之佛德。
Gentle Embrace Gentle Embrace Yutang Lin Could gentle embrace be easily accomplished Comment: Attracting and leading sentient beings onto the path of liberation through gentle embrace, if not in harmonious oneness of wisdom and compassion, how could it be accomplished? Those sustaining grasping in mind cannot empty their minds to tolerate others and to accommodate others. Those whose minds are still not fully open could not cease comparing and complaining. As soon as one starts comparing and complaining, then one cannot gently embrace the other party, not to mention all sentient beings. Sentient beings have habitual tendencies of violence, greed, ignorance, etc. Without wisdom that harmoniously unified Blank Essence and Causal Origination, how could enticing and guiding according to propensities of beings be accomplished? If one can comprehend the significance of Compassionate Embracing in the light of the above exposition, then, when one faces Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who applies gentle embrace to attract and guide sentient beings, such as Kurukulla, how could one refrain from making full prostrations and not feel wholehearted admiration? Such comprehension indeed saw through the appearance of gentle embrace to recognize its essence as the virtuous merits of Buddha's harmonious oneness of wisdom and compassion.
