Worldly Way

Yutang Lin

Extolling oneself and disparaging others amid ocean of debts and dues;
As far as one can see worldlings are floating up and down in the waves.
Blaming others would vainly entrap one in sorrows that lead to nowhere.
Reflecting on oneself for refinement walks on the path to enlightenment.

Comments:

The world is full of self-praising and others-disparaging. Consequently debts and grudges continually form scores while solid dependability is hard to encounter. Blaming others could hardly avoid making mistaken accusations but would easily start up controversies. Instead one would rather reflect on oneself for improvement so that there would be hope for resuming peace of mind.
