Not Vain VowsYutang Lin
Comments: Great vows of Buddhas or Bodhisattvas are thoroughly considerate of sentient beings to all details, and hence imply boundless salvation activities. Compassion and benevolence to such depth and extent are in fact unfathomable to ordinary beings. Therefore, usually upon hearing such vows people could hardly believe them to be realistic. Now I have devoted my life to the study, practice and service of Dharma for almost three decades. Recently while repeating great vows of Buddhas or Bodhisattvas I suddenly realized that, based on my own experiences of receiving all sorts of blessings and privileges, their great vows are genuinely valid. Here I carefully recorded their grace to encourage later comers on the path.
