Don't Keep Worrying

Yutang Lin

Suffering to death awakens one to cease worrying;
Living under depression would not be worth while.
Seeing others' hardships only after mind refreshed.
Become gentle and tolerant to wish everyone well.

Comments:

Having fallen to the bottom of the valley of sorrows, while original clarity is forced to the end of a blind alley it might suddenly turn around to the awakening that continuing in this way is not worth while. After one has emerged from personal preoccupations, only then with a clear mind can one truly see the many sufferings that are around. Sympathy would then arise. Consequently, one would adopt an attitude of gentle harmony and tolerance in one's dealings with others; furthermore, there would be a deep yearning that all sufferings would soon reduce to naught while harmony and peace would spread all over the earth.
