Mottos for Awakening Yutang Lin
Keeping Self-interests in Mind The price for keeping self-interests in mind is the ineligibility to enlightenment. Extinguishing Delusions What a Dharma practitioner should endeavor to do is not the changing of the world but the extinguishment of one’s own inner delusions and entanglements. Huge Mistake The greatest mistake in one’s life is to constantly regard oneself, a minute human being, as the most important factor to take into consideration—this is completely incompatible with facts, and yet it is extremely difficult for one to reflect on it and get awaken to the facts. Self-deceit On the one hand, one claims the wish to attain enlightenment sooner; and yet one keeps busy with worldly engagements. This kind of self-deceit, others can only look on in silence, and yet the person committing it can hardly realize what he is doing to himself.
