生計艱難　想錢當然
修行弘法　缺錢困難

要等錢夠　起修無期
能修便修　護法才來

老佛教徒　雖知佛法
心中想錢　難捨難離

衰病將至　不知警惕
富甲一方　猶謀營利

遺財子女　焉保是福
恩怨相報　總繫輪迴

真志修行　不要想錢
唯念菩提　方能進步

健康難久　心力日減
此刻即修　方是佛徒

願以此作　喚醒財迷
命終不保　錢又如何

Thinking about Money

When livelihood is difficult
        It is natural to think about money
For Dharma practices and propagation
        It will be difficult without money

If one were to wait till money is enough
        Dharma practices will never start
Whenever possible one practices Dharma
        Only then will Dharma protectors come to help

Buddhists who are in Dharma for long years
        Even though they know the teachings
And yet in their minds thoughts on money
        Are difficult to renounce and to cease

Senility and illnesses are approaching
        And yet one remains un-alert as usual
Being wealthy already surpasses many people
        Still one contrives to accrue more money

Leaving wealth to sons and daughters
        How could that be guaranteed to be a blessing
Mutually paying back favors and grudges
        Always are tied down together in transmigration

Genuinely aspired to Dharma practices
        Do not think about money
Only being mindful of Bodhicitta
        Can one advance on the enlightenment path

Good health cannot last for long
        And mental abilities are deteriorating daily
Engaging in Dharma practices at this instant
        Only then is one a genuine Buddhist

May this work of mine
        Wake up those who are deluded by wealth
Life will eventually be lost
        What could money amount to
