Irritable Sacredness

Yutang Lin

Grasping to what one venerated as the only sacredness,
Admitting no others as holy, the rest all deemed enemies.
For such holiness persecution and wars are often waged.
Innocent ones become fearful of such irritable sacredness.

Comments:

When sacredness is established on grasping, it would be self-righteous and exclusive of others. Not admitting others as holy, all the rest become enemies. As veneration of such sacredness approaches extreme, even persecution and wars are deemed necessary beyond the realm of reflection on its proportion. Feeble and innocent ones could not help but to stay away from such irritable sacredness.
