The Very Last Moment

Yutang Lin

Looking ahead and thinking about the past, one worries all the time.
When had one ever thought of the moment near the impending death?
Suppose that the present instant were the very last moment of this life,
Should one still be worrying and bustling so much as one usually does?

Comments:

In general, people's minds are too messy with many worries so that few could be happy. If one could comprehend that this present instant is similar to the very last moment before death, then perhaps one could stop all the bustles and enjoy a moment of tranquility. If one could think like this often, and practice like this often, one would have a peaceful life. Amitabha Buddha!
