Chewing over "Non-self"

Yutang Lin

Old people’s regular saying would not be abhorred as bothersome;
The pith of emancipation is to be rid of grasping.
Matters resolved in accordance only with the principle of non-self,
Dust gradually settles down and mind naturally resumes calm.

Comment:

As I have walked along the path of practice the benefit of adhering to "non-self" is deeply felt. Whatever happens, simply observe, ponder and act or refrain in accordance with this teaching to transcend selfishness and self-centered limitations, then the benefit of long-term clarity and peace would naturally ensue. Please not be abhorred by such regular saying of old practitioners; I simply hope that Buddhist practitioners would often chew over the teaching of "non-self."
