Teaching in One Phrase

Yutang Lin

Disciple Yao En (Medicine Guru Buddha's Grace) asked
Is there a phrase that can guide one on the path till full enlightenment
Replied
Realizing impermanence

Comprehending impermanence
Easier to let go of grasping
Feeling impermanence
One turned to practice Dharma diligently
Realizing impermanence
It is possible to comprehend selflessness

        Free from grasping
        Free from self-centeredness
        And practicing Dharma diligently
Mind naturally becomes clear and open
And hence readily merging into original purity

Impermanence is not only the entrance to the Buddha path
But also a bright lamp shinning upon the practice path
And even more so a realization of full enlightenment

Note:
The Dharma name Yao En was given because the disciple asked for refuge right after a fire puja to Medicine Guru Buddha had been performed.
