源本大海淤沙隔,勤加濬通歸一體;

Reunion with Ocean Yutang Lin

Originated from ocean but separated by sand silt,
Diligently dredged through to reunite in oneness.
Purity, clarity and sensibility could not be dulled;
Accumulated karmic hindrance is to be removed.

Comment:

Accumulation of karmic activities and chain of catching of entanglements block and blur one's clarity and sensibility of mind that is originally pure. Consequently, one lost the capacity to merge and communicate with the totality of the Dharmadhatu, just as a small lake by the sea that is separated from the sea through sand silt. Engaging in Dharma practices to remove karmic hindrances is similar to dredging such sand silt in order to rejoin the ocean. Once the sediments are cleared away it is natural to merge and reunite with the sea in oneness.
